About This Product
The Days with Minimum Wind Chill Below 10°F map displays the number of days this winter when the minimum wind chill was at or below 10°F. This map is updated once each night.
All Mesonet data is quality-assured, and sometimes precipitation freezes to our anemometers, preventing accurate wind speed observations. Wind speed is part of the wind chill formula, and we cannot verify the wind chill calculation during these periods. Accordingly, some days with wind chills below the 10°F threshold might not get counted, and some areas on the map may have lower than expected values.
