shows cup 5 wind speed - Wind Monitor vector wind speed, where the x and
y axes are in meters per second (m/s). Finally, there is a difference
in gain between the R.M.Young cup anemometers and the Wind Monitor. This
is shown in Fig. 7 for cup 5 (the results are similar for all cups relative
to the Wind Monitor given the small differences between all the cups).
R.M.Young has been notified regarding this. Perhaps a wind tunnel test
would be appropriate. Note the difference in startup threshold is evident
with the Wind Monitor responding to lower wind speeds. |
