About Mesonet Daily Data
This product provides you access to comma-delimited files of
daily maxima, minima, averages, and other useful quantities based on data
from the Oklahoma Mesonet.
These data are used to produce our Mesonet Climatological Data (MCD)
product. In addition to the variables included on the MCDs, numerous
others are available here -- over 80 different quantities in all.
The comma-delimited format allows for easy importation into spreadsheets,
a feature commonly requested by our customers.
These statistical data are computed daily for each Oklahoma Mesonet
site. They are available from the Oklahoma Climatological Survey
from January 1994 through the yesterday using this web page. For
a more detailed description of our MCD summaries, see the Guide
to MCDs.
Using the Web Pages
To obtain a comma-delimited daily file, follow the steps below:
- Select the beginning month, day, and year from the pop-up menus.
- Select the ending month, day, and year from the pop-up menus.
- Select the station(s) from the list box.
- Windows Users: To select a range of sites, hold down the
Shift key and drag your cursor over the desired sites. To select
multiple sites, hold down the control key and check on individual
sites.
- Mac Users: To select a range of sites, hold down the Shift
key and drag your cursor over the desired sites. To select multiple
sites, hold down the Command key and click on individual sites.
- Select the variables you want to view.
- Windows Users: To select a range of variables, hold down
the Shift key and drag your cursor over the desired variables. To
select multiple variables, hold down the control key and check on
individual variables.
- Mac Users: To select multiple variables, hold down the
Shift key and drag your cursor over the desired variables. To select
multiple variables, hold down the command key and click on individual
variables.
- Enter your e-mail address (if necessary).
- Click "Submit" to obtain your data.
Please note that if you request a large set of data (more than 100 lines
of data), your e-mail address will be required and the data will be
processed offline. An e-mail notification will be sent to you
to let you know when your request is ready and where you may find it.
This process should take only a few minutes. Your data will be
compressed into a zip archive, which will require a separate program,
such as WinZip or MacZip, to unzip the file.

Notes:
Observation Number: This number is
the number of 5-minute intervals since midnight. For example, an
observation number of 0 is midnight CST and an observation number of 2
is 12:10 AM CST. Hence, a TMAXO (Observation number for Maximum
Air Temperature) of 180 means that the maximum air temperature was observed
at 3:00 PM CST.
Number of Bad/Questionable Observations:
This is a count of the number of observations that are missing or flagged
as unreliable for that particular variable for that day.
Wind Direction: The wind direction is represented
as a digit between 0 and 16 and corresponds to a 16-point compass, as
designated in the following table.
